“There is no better predictor of what the actual sales trends are in volume for wine and spirits in the market than SipSource.”

Dirk Van Renesse, Republic National Distributing Company
Brad Vassar

“Prior to the creation of SipSource, we lacked a fully comprehensive view of the business. We made assumptions based on our own business and what various channels could be growing What excites me most about SipSource is the ability to have an accurate read on what is happening in the on-premise channel and remove any guesswork.”

Brad Vassar, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits
Danny Wirtz

“The breadth of wholesalers participating in SipSource provides accurate distributor depletion data and never before seen insights into the wine and spirits industry. SipSource has a very distinct advantage over other industry reports that will become a tool many will ask, ‘how did I run my business without it?’”

Danny Wirtz, Breakthru Beverage Group

Methodology and Metrics

Data Process: Data containing each participant’s proprietary naming, numbering, and classification of products and outlets is sent to VIP. VIP transforms those disparate data sets into a harmonized aggregation of U.S. wine and spirits industry volume. The resulting data is standardized by retail outlet attributes (premise type, class of trade, chain/independent, etc.) and product attributes (category, class, segment, etc.). Data is verified and validated on an ongoing basis.

SipSource Data Process
