WSWA Elects 2017-2018 Officers

The Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA), the nation’s leading trade association representing the wholesale tier of the U.S. beverage alcohol industry, elected its 2017-2018 officers during the WSWA 74th Annual Convention & Exposition held April 18-21 at Grande Lakes Orlando.

Carmine Martignetti of Massachusetts is Chairman

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – The Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA), the nation’s leading trade association representing the wholesale tier of the U.S. beverage alcohol industry, elected its 2017-2018 officers during the WSWA 74th Annual Convention & Exposition held April 18-21 at Grande Lakes Orlando.

Incoming Chairman of the Board is Carmine Martignetti of Martignetti Companies, Taunton, Mass.  Vice Chairman is Barkley Stuart of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, Dallas, Texas.  Syd Ross of Great Lakes Wine & Spirits, Highland Park, Mich., is Senior Vice President.

Other officers include Danny Wirtz of Breakthru Beverage Group, Cicero, Ill., who serves as Vice President, Chris Underwood of Young’s Market Company, Tustin, Calif., in the role of Secretary, and Tom Cole of Republic National Distributing Company, New Orleans, La., as Treasurer.  Immediate Past Chairman Doug Epstein of Horizon Beverage Group, Norton, Mass., also serves as an officer.

The 2017-2018 Executive Committee includes three at-large representatives: Paul Powell of American Premium Beverage, Colfax, N.C., on behalf of Leadership Caucus A representing small to mid-size companies; and Sue McCollum of Major Brands Premium Beverage Distributors, St. Louis, Mo., and Steven Becker of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, Miami, Fla., on behalf of Leadership Caucus B representing larger member companies.

“The strength and influence of WSWA is a testament to our members, their diversity of size, scope and operations, and their shared belief that the industry is strongest when it is united,” said WSWA President and CEO Craig Wolf.

“Our volunteer leaders have hit the ground running and are engaged in an important strategic planning process to help anticipate and address challenges facing the association, our members and the industry at large in the years ahead.  Our staff and leadership team look forward to working with Chairman Martignetti in the months ahead and are excited about what the future holds,” Wolf added.
