Today, Dina Opici, President of Opici Family Distributing and Chairwoman of Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) went to the White House on behalf of her company and the broader wholesale tier to support President Trump in calling on the Senate to support Main Street businesses.
While there, Dina had the opportunity to engage directly with senior White House officials, staff, Members of Congress, and members of the press corps, expressing her appreciation for the administration’s efforts to prioritize family-owned, multi-generational businesses like those that make up WSWA’s membership.
Dina specifically called on the U.S. Senate to take swift action and pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), as passed by the House, which would permanently secure the 199A deduction at 23% and include critical estate tax provisions. She emphasized that more than 80% of American businesses are pass-through entities, and that long-term certainty on 199A is essential for these businesses to grow, hire, invest, and plan for the future.
“This bill puts Main Street in a better position to compete in a global economy and create jobs in our local communities,” said Dina. “We urge the Senate to keep Main Street at the forefront as they consider this legislation and send it to President Trump’s desk for signature!”
