Washington, D.C.

Today, the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) began a weeklong campaign highlighting the industry’s professional truck drivers who deliver a variety of wine and spirits to local bars, restaurants, and stores all across America.

During National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW), September 9-15, WSWA will recognize the 16,500 truck drivers of the wholesale tier of the beverage alcohol industry. These hardworking men and women provide value-added services to their retail and on premise customers and are the community face of wholesalers, driving familiar beverage delivery trucks in every corner of the country.

“Every day, truck drivers employed by WSWA member companies work around the clock to deliver wine and spirits to bars, restaurants, and stores all across the country,”WSWA Executive Vice President, External Affairs, Dawson Hobbs said. “These men and women are experts in logistics and safety and help provide American consumers with the largest selection and variety of products found anywhere in the world. Their professionalism, customer relations experience, and contributions to local economies is critical to the success of WSWA members and the wine and spirits industry as a whole.”

To celebrate these drivers and their contributions to America’s economy, WSWA will be spotlighting exceptional drivers from WSWA member companies on social media and will have a wrapped truck provided by Republic National Distributing Company in the Washington, D.C. area to highlight the impact of wine and spirits wholesalers in the U.S. Photos of the truck can be viewed here.
