WASHINGTON, D.C., 03/29/2023 – Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) today announced Senior Vice President of Administrative Operations at Martignetti Companies Mary Lou Segreve as WSWA’s 2023 Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DE&I) Award recipient. WSWA’s DE&I Award is presented to an individual that fosters the values of diversity, equity and inclusion within their organization or the beverage industry at large, and who has displayed a commitment to these values through implementing meaningful programs, furthering inclusion at a high level, and encouraging volunteering in a manner that seeks to grow cultural connections.

“The commitment and dedication of Mary Lou Segreve, SVP of Administrative Operations, towards diversity, equity, and inclusion have been vital to transforming our organization's culture,” said Carmine and Carl Martignetti, Principals of Martignetti Companies. “Her work has fostered an inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued and respected and enhanced our ability to serve a diverse customer base and meet the evolving needs of our industry.  Her impact will continue to be felt for years to come.”

Segreve was nominated and selected for her commitment to creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace, environment, and culture as well as her work instituting company-wide DE&I assessments, championing unconscious bias training, and the critical role she plays annually in planning and executing the Women’s Beverage & Alcohol Symposium. She is also credited with founding the Martignetti LIIFT program and serves as chair of WSWA’s DE&I council.

“I am incredibly honored to receive the WSWA DE&I award and all that it represents,” said Segreve. “DE&I is an ongoing journey that requires buy-in and accountability at all levels within an organization. This accomplishment is not something I did alone. It takes everyone both inside and outside our organization, including our leadership team, employees, and supplier partners to ensure that Martignetti is a place where everyone is treated fairly and has a voice, experiences a sense of belonging and feels equipped to succeed.”
