Counterfeit Alcohol: Group Statement on Capitol Hill Policy Briefing

Jul 25, 2019

Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America, the American Beverage Licensees, and the American Distilled Spirits Association gathered for an important Capitol Hill policy briefing exploring the dangers of counterfeit and tainted alcohol and how America's rigorous three-tier beverage alcohol system prevents these tragedies from happening here at home.

The group echoed, "The preservation and promotion of the US system of beverage alcohol regulation comprised of robust federal and state laws is necessary to keeping America's market free of illicit and counterfeit alcohol."

The three groups thank Congressman Albio Sires (D-NJ), Chairman of the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee, House Foreign Affairs Committee for his opening remarks and update on the ongoing investigation in the Dominican Republic.

Special thanks to Good Morning Washington's Sam Sweeney for moderating the discussion.
