Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau

The Department of the Treasury’s Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) is the primary federal regulator of beverage alcohol in the United States.

WSWA supports full funding of TTB so it can continue to ensure that the beverage alcohol marketplace is safe, transparent, and fair.

TTB is also responsible for enforcing the Federal Alcohol Administration (FAA) Act, ensuring the alcohol industry is tax and trade practice compliant.  Agency officials annually review more than 100,000 labels and thousands of formulas to protect American consumers. A well-funded TTB guards against unscrupulous actors from entering the American marketplace with dangerous, counterfeit alcohol.
