Report Showcases Extensive Investment, Donations and Involvement from Distributors and Employees
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – American family-owned wine and spirits distributors and their employees provide millions of dollars in donations, volunteer hours, promotion and involvement with thousands of charitable and service organizations across the country. A new report released by the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA), the nation’s distributor trade association, provides an overview of this engagement and will be used by the group to educate members of the media as well as state and local elected officials about this work and the sector’s economic impact.
“For distributors and their employees, community engagement and philanthropy is not just a talking point—it is an essential and vital part of business operations. From owners and managers through the ranks to the youngest and most junior employees, distributors are engaged in every manner of community and philanthropic work. Giving back is as essential to their businesses and employees as is good customer relations and value-added service,” said WSWA President and CEO Craig Wolf.

Distributors are vital contributors to local economies, employing more than 74,000 Americans at 3,000 locations nationwide. These employees earn a combined $6.5 billion in wages annually as part of an industry that generates more than $50 billion in federal and state taxes each year.
