21st Amendment Ratified, Prohibition Ended


December 5, 2017 marks 84 years since the United States ratified the 21st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and paved the way for the modern three-tier beverage alcohol system.

WSWA Announces Winners of Wine, Spirits and Mixology Competitions Held at the 68th Annual Convention & Exposition


Orlando, Fla.—The Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) announced the winners of the Wine & Spirits Tasting Competition, “Call for Cocktails”: Mixology Competition and the Wholesaler “Iron Mixologist” Competition held at the WSWA 68th Annual Convention & Exposition in Orlando.

New this year, the Wholesaler “Iron Mixologist” Competition challenged six mixologists from WSWA member companies to create cocktails with a secret ingredient announced at the start of the competition. Mixologists worked from the same ingredients and brands from their respective portfolios. Caterina Miltenberger stole the show as she won two of the three categories in addition to best of show. Miltenberger is the Corporate Mixologist for Glazer’s Distributors in Dallas, Tx.
