Federal Key Issue - TTB Funding

Congressional appropriators should fully fund the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau at $111 million (the FY 2017 enacted level), including $5 million dedicated specifically to trade practice enforcement. In addition to its tax collection role, TTB is responsible for enforcing the Federal Alcohol Administration (FAA) Act. Agency officials annually review more than 100,000 labels and thousands of formulas to protect American consumers. A well-funded TTB guards against unscrupulous actors from entering the American marketplace with dangerous, counterfeit alcohol.
